We are looking for a strong database architect / information modeler for the Risk and Finance Architecture group to work on building the strategic Risk Finance Data warehouse. The team is developing a consolidated data warehouse that serves as a single store for all risk and finance data. Data is sourced from multiple systems, enriched and distributed to multiple consumers, and provides a consistent view of the data. The ideal candidate would have previous hands-on experience in high volume data warehouses.
Responsibilities:
- Create Data Models using Enterprise Architecture and ER Studio
- Code packages, functions, stored procedures, views in Oracle PL/SQL
- Reference Data Integration - integrate to the firms golden sources for Instrument, Issuer, Party, and Market Data. The candidate will take the lead on this.
- Ability to create functional specs document
- Ability to create detailed technical design documents
- Liaise with offshore build team and provide specs/directions
- Code Review stored procedures and scripts written by other team members
- Performance/Tuning of Oracle SQL
Technical skills:
- Solid understanding of databases and warehouse/mart concepts with proven experience in both.
- Oracle 10g RAC / 11i
- PL SQL
- data modeling
- star schema
- physical architecture (partitioning, cluster)
- working with large databases - multi terabytes (3+ Terabytes)
- Any Netezza or other database appliance experience is a plus
- Knowledge of financial products

We are looking for an individual with strong technical knowledge of Oracle RAC 11i and databases in general, for the Risk and Finance Architecture group to work on building the strategic Risk Finance Data warehouse. The team is developing a consolidated data warehouse that serves as a single store for all risk and finance data. Data is sourced from multiple systems, enriched and distributed to multiple consumers, and provides a consistent view of the data. The ideal candidate would have hands-on experience in high volume data warehouses and have Oracle RAC DBA experience in their past.
Responsibilities:
- Physical architecture of database tables, partitions, load balancing, parallel queries, etc.
- Work with our Technical Architecture, Database Engineering and DBA Teams to architect a highly scalable and robust global solution (multi-regional access)
- Code packages, functions, stored procedures, views in Oracle PL/SQL
- Create Physical Data Models using Enterprise Architecture and ER Studio
- Ability to create functional and technical design documents
- Liaise with offshore build team and provide specs/directions
