Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, competitive, dedicated, committed and willing & ready to relocate. He or she must have strong communication skills both over the phone as well as face-to-face. He or she must be articulate but firm at the same time. A drive for financial success is the key element what we are looking for in selecting the perfect candidate for this position. He or she will also be responsible to compose a sales team that reflects their experience and knowledge of the field of marketing.

Responsibilities:

Maintain professional standards in areas of sales and customer service.
Process sales data, sales progress reports and other sales related records and reports
Provide support for the sales team and customers
Manage current and prospective customer database
Customer Account Negotiation
Contribute to a positive and motivational environment
Work closely with our outside sales reps to understand the nuances of our business

Requirements:

Excellent presentation skills: great with people; able to speak on the phone or in person comfortably
3-5 years previous job experience with sales support or customer service experience
Resourceful, well organized, highly dependable, efficient and detail oriented
Positive, can-do attitude combined with flexibility is a winning combination for this role

The YIVO Institute for Jewish Research was founded in Vilna, Poland, in 1925 and relocated to New York City in 1940. Position Summary
As part of the Development Department, the Database and Membership Associate has the primary responsibilities of performing day-to-day membership functions, maintaining the Raiser’s Edge database, and staffing development events.

Responsibilities
The Database and Membership Associate’s functions include, but are not limited to:

Member Services

· Coordinate three annual direct mail appeals

· Promptly process and acknowledge all incoming donations

· Compose donor acknowledgement letters

· Acknowledge tribute gifts

· Work with Development Department to expand membership and awareness

Raiser’s Edge Database Management

· Maintain and update donor data

· Produce reports of donor/giving statistics

· Continue database overhaul to standardize and correct errors

· Produce mailing lists and donor lists

Development Events

· Work as part of the development team to prepare for development events such as the Annual Benefit Dinner and Annual Heritage Dinner

· Staff events registration desk and/or membership table

Qualifications
Bachelors Degree
At least 3 years of nonprofit fundraising experience
Proficiency in Raiser’s Edge and Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

Long Island synagogue seeking part time cantor to lead shabbath services, high holiday services and some community events. Seeking individual who is personable, energetic and inspirational.

We are currently seeking a part time Cantor for our egalitarian synagogue. Responsibility to include assisting Rabbi in leading shabbath services, all of High Holidays, Chagim (not required to do all of Yom Tov for each chag, but would be expected to do (for example) day 1 and 2 of Pesach, day 1 of Shavuot, day 1 of sukkot and Simchat torah). Chag/Yizkor days are preferred. . Additional duties to be negotiated including teaching bar/bat mitzvah lessons and working with temple choir.
