Infant Head Teacher: The Ramaz Faculty Daycare Center

We are a unique childcare program designed for the children of our school’s faculty. We offer a warm and nurturing environment with a focus on helping children grow and develop socially, emotionally, and physically, as well as intellectually within a Jewish Community. We are a small program of thirty children serving children ages eight weeks through two years of age, with low teacher turnover and a strong program for learning.

 

Make a Difference!
Join our family at the Ramaz Faculty Daycare Center as a Head Infant Teacher, in collaboration with two assistant teachers. You and your assistants will provide a responsive and loving environment for up to eight babies, eight weeks of age through 12 months. Your knowledge of infant development, responsive caregiving techniques, patience, and passion for working with infants ensures that each child develops with a sense of confidence within a caring, learning environment. An understanding of the Hebrew language is preferred, but not required.


As the Infant Head Teacher you will:

  • Prepare a safe, welcoming environment where children can freely explore and develop socially, intellectually, emotionally and physically.
  • Provide a stimulating classroom environment responsive to the developmental needs of each children.
  • Create a language-rich environment.
  • Foster strong family relationships through open communication.
  • Follow all safety and health rules while supervising all children at all times.
  • Keep the environment and equipment safe, clean, and attractive.
  • Support the philosophy and culture of Ramaz.
  • Lead and participate with assistants through communication, collaboration, and curriculum planning.


Requirements:

 Associate’s (AA or AS) degree in early childhood education or Child Development Associate (CDA)

Five years of experience in a licensed infant/toddler program.

Knowledge of NYC DOH Article 47

Knowledge of Developmentally Appropriate Practices.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
 Must be 21 years old or older.

Ramaz is a co-educational modern Orthodox day school striving for excellence in Jewish Education.

 

Ramaz seeks an energetic, organized development professional with exceptional writing and communication skills to assist and support all aspects of the school’s fund-raising operation, taking primary roles in various ongoing and one-time projects as needed. 

   

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Closely staff the Director of Institutional Advancement and help him execute a variety of projects and tasks
  • Write and send out all of the Development Office’s correspondence, including pledge confirmation emails and acknowledgement and billing letters
  • Work closely with Communications Office to proofread e-communications and prepare mail merge lists for large mailings and other direct mail and e-appeals
  • Support Director of Institutional Advancement in the preparation for donor briefings (including writing talking points, preparing briefing papers and researching prospective donors)
  • Coordinate Journal and other parts of the Annual Dinner
  • Independently manage logistics for donor cultivation and development events
  • Ensure donor hard files are current, complete and chronological
  • Prepare and coordinate materials for meetings including meeting notices, agendas, handouts, copying and distributing follow-up materials
  • Provide some day-to-day administrative support to the Development staff
  • Assist with other large-scale development projects as needed

 

This position requires someone with excellent organizational skills, and who is self-directed and detail oriented. Excellent written and oral skills are a must. The person must be enthusiastic about working in a Jewish day school environment and enjoy working as part of a team.

 

Job Qualifications: 

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in an office setting.
  • Experience in an educational and/or Jewish institution is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree required. 
  • Proficiency in Excel, Power-point, Word and other computer skills, as required.

Education Coordinator: The Ramaz Faculty Daycare Center

We are a unique childcare program designed for the children of our school’s faculty. We offer a warm and nurturing environment with a focus on helping children grow and develop socially, emotionally, and physically, as well as intellectually within a Jewish Community. We are a small program of thirty children serving children ages eight weeks through two years of age, with low teacher turnover and a strong program for learning.

 

We are seeking a qualified Education Coordinator with classroom responsibilities in our Twos Room. We are looking for a candidate who displays sound early childhood knowledge, with compassion for young children and their families. As the Education Coordinator you will have the opportunity and responsibility to grow an environment for children which allows children and families to develop to their full potential. You will enjoy and be accountable for fostering a collaborative work environment for up to ten teachers and assistant teachers, while ensuring accountability to licensing regulations and developmentally appropriate practices and overall daycare operations. You will find great reward interacting and developing appropriate programming for up to twelve children in the ”twos” classroom for which  you will assume teaching responsibility for,  with the support of two assistants. Your knowledge of the Hebrew language will be appreciated, but not required.

 

Requirements:
BA or above in Early Childhood Education
NY State Teaching Certification in either N-6 or B-2
2-3  years classroom teaching experience working with children 2 months through 2 years of age

2-3  years of experience supervising teaching staff in a childcare setting

Knowledge of NYC DOH Article 47

Knowledge of Developmentally Appropriate Practices

Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Ability to evaluate and give feedback to faculty

Ability to foster strong relationships with parents
