To create and drive the strategic direction of our on-line business by working effectively with key internal departments and external vendors.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Maximize profit and revenue through development, planning and execution of e-commerce activities, strategies and budgets. This includes responsibility for partner management, e-mail communication and web site administration. Position also includes responsibility for budgeting and reporting on the web activities of the business.
  2. Source companies and vendors to assist with the implementation of an e-commerce site;
  3. Support corporate profitability goals via the development and execution of on-line e-commerce business working in close coordination with marketing leader to direct traffic sales while building equity and brand awareness
  4. Develop, manage and execute electronic communications and website activities
  5. Optimize on-line navigation and other e-commerce related analytics (click-path, traffic, conversion, cross-selling and up-sell opportunities) to increase profitability
  6. Increase the revenue, contribution and file size for the e-mail database
  7. Track and report on demand, conversion, contribution and file size for the e-mail database
  8. Track and report on demand, conversion, contribution and other key performance metrics. This includes monthly reports, weekly forecasting and post mortems. React quickly to take advantage of changing business activity
  9. Implement best practices using technology to create a competitive advantage. This will include standard reports, demand allocation, etc..
  10. Oversee key vendor relationships including affiliates, search, data fields, on-line advertising and e-mail communication
  11. Work with internal and external vendors on the development of the feature set and implementation plan for next generation website
  12. Develop plans and recommendations for improvements and growth for Faconnable’s on-line business
  13. Manage web merchandising in close coordination with the merchandising team
  14. Visionary planning skills including emerging technologies and standards, competitive analysis, market trends, etc…
  15. Full understanding of Internet/project development processes from requirements gathering to release
  16. Analyze sales data and provide in-depth reporting on overall P&L
  17. The ability to manage projects, vendors and staff both remotely and locally

Requirements:

  • 5 - 7 years managing web sites and interactive programs
  • 5 - 10 years management experience including staff development
  • Thorough knowledge of on-line marketing strategies including affiliates, email, search and business user site administration
  • Knowledge of database management and data mining strategies
  • Working knowledge of technical architecture, infrastructure and cross-functional systems
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as strong presentation skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with people at many levels
  • Ability to manage a complex array of strategic and tactical projects with multiple partners
  • Proven analytical, financial, business planning and management skills
  • Proven leadership skills

Technical Function

  • Uses Microsoft Office at an expert level
  • Has the functional and technical knowledge and skills to do the job at a high level of accomplishment; is regarded as an expert in the technical/functional area; accesses and uses other expert resources when appropriate

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business or Marketing
  • Minimum 7 years experience

Position Summary
Join a rapidly growing e-Commerce Software Company as a Professional Services Engineer, reporting to the Director of Professional Services. This is a highly visible, customer-facing role, making this an exciting opportunity for the job seeker interested in a rewarding opportunity with a career path.
You will be responsible for projects from contract signature until signoff. This includes leading the communication with the client in design discussions and understanding the needs of the customer.
Lead system design and analysis, development and implementation. Participate in onsite meetings, training sessions, and generating documentation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
•Support sales efforts by attending presales meetings and participating in discussions.
•Ability to write a sample web based application demonstrating the created solution in Java/J2EE.
•Become a strategic partner with the customer to ensure best practices and the latest technologies are implemented.
•Assist with finalizing project SOWs (Statements of Work).
•Serve as the Mercado resource in all customer design meetings affecting current and future Mercado projects.
•Assist the customers design team on all Customers Product Expansions and upgrades.
•Develop the integration to Omniture.
•Design and implement the new Mercado Pyramid.
•Provide consultation to the customer team on alternative Open Source technologies.
•Provide technical account management for “own” customers, including aggregated support calls, change requests, design meetings and discussions.
•The ability to understand emergency production-related issues, and to elevate to the appropriate person as needed.
•Optimize the LDQs and IIQs.
•Ensure the customer understand the Mercado roadmaps and communicate any design change issues.
•Work with R&D resources on product technology enhancements and optimization of performance and index runtime reduction.
•Ability to travel

Education and Experience
Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering or equivalent experience

Required: Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
•System Analysis and System Design.
•The ability to deal with complex problems and situations.
•Great customer facing skills and the ability to build relationships
•Must be able to effectively communicate with technical, business, and upper management teams.
•Independent working skills.
•Good understanding of hardware and software architectures.

Preferred: Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
•Excellent knowledge of web development in Java/J2EE.

•Previous experience working under Solaris an advantage.
