Position Summary
The 92nd Street Y is looking for a Service Manager of its new cafe space in Tribeca. Reporting to the Food and Beverage Director, the Service Manager will ensure the effective and efficient delivery of all customer service requirements at 92YTribeca with the aim of providing the highest level of customer care and guest satisfaction while meeting cost projections and sustaining the national reputation of the 92nd Street Y.
Position Accountabilities
1 Responsible for overseeing daily service operations for 92YTribeca
2 Reschedule staff consistent with the volume of business and guest needs in accordance with budgetary guidelines
3 Assign specific job duties and/or stations to staff on a rotating basis
4 Close out register and reconcile cash at the end of the shift
5 Assist guests with any special request, problems or concerns that may arise
6 Communicate with the Food & Beverage Director on a regular basis concerning the progress and operations of the departments
7 Maintain the POS system, and train staff in proper use of system
8 Maintain all service related equipment
9 Assist in inventory control and ordering of all service and bar items
10 Ensure cleanliness, working order and over all appearance of all service areas
11 Performs the duties of Cashier, Greeter, Waitstaff or Busperson as needed
12 Perform the duties of Manager on Duty as assigned
13 Perform other related duties as assigned by the Food and Beverage Director and/or Assistant Food and Beverage Director
Position Qualification:
1. Minimum AOS degree in Hospitality Industry related education
2. Minimum 5 years of service/front-of-the-house experience
3. Strong knowledge and use of Microsoft word and excel programs
Preferred:
1. Service Bar experience
2. Knowledge of kosher food preparation and handling
