2. can be free to work some evenings and at least one morning during the week.

3. is free to host at least 2 events per month. our events run mostly on Sunday nights and we require up to 4 hours evening work 1-2 days per week outside the hosting of the events.

4. has experience in event hosting/planning.

About the Organization

The Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany, Inc. (Claims Conference), an international non-profit organization headquartered in New York, was established in 1951 to negotiate a program of indemnification for material damages to Jewish individuals and to the Jewish people caused by Germany through the Holocaust. This respected organization administers several major programs for the benefit of Holocaust survivors worldwide and actively negotiates with the German government.

We have an immediate opening for an Information Specialist in our Department of Services. This position is a temporary to permanent position.

Qualifications

The appropriate candidate must:

Be fluent in English and Hebrew;

Have experience in non-profit organizations and/or social work.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

Assisting Holocaust survivors with the application processes;

Answering questions regarding the status of applications or payments; and

directing phone calls to appropriate departments when necessary.

This position requires extensive telephone use. A patient and empathetic personality a must.

“One Shot”, a major upcoming action movie, is now casting supporting roles for production which begins in November.

This movie will be about a homicide detective named Jack Reacher who investigates a seemingly-ordinary crime case involving a trained sniper who went on a shooting spree.

“One Shot” was written by Christopher McQuarrie and Josh Olson, and it will be directed by Christopher McQuarrie.

The movie is being produced by Paula Wagner, David Ellison, and Kevin Messick for Skydance Productions in association with Paramount Pictures.

This respected organization administers several major programs for the benefit of Holocaust survivors worldwide and actively negotiates with the German government.

We are currently recruiting for a Public Relations Manager. The Public Relations Manager will serve as an advocate for the Claims Conference by building and maintaining positive relationships with the public and members of the Board of Directors.

Specific responsibilities will include the following:

Planning, developing, and implementing activities relating to all phases of media and public relations efforts in support of the Communications Department’s strategic goals;

  • Maintaining high-level visibility and leadership presence for the organization through implementation of key Public Relations activities;
  • Developing and implementing a strategic communications program for outreach to Board members;
  • Developing pro-active, ongoing outreach to individual members of the Board;
  • Updating Board members on Claims Conference programs and activities;
  • Liaising with colleagues, Board Members, and key spokespeople;
  • Developing positive messaging about the organization and assisting with their implementation to increase awareness of the organization;
  • Developing and maintaining current knowledge of public relations principles and practices;
  • Developing rapport with the Jewish and secular media outlets and proactively conducting outreach to media about Claims Conference programs and positive developments, etc.;
  • Devising and coordinating photo opportunities;
  • Assisting with press events;

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations or closely related field or an equivalent combination of experience and education, i.e., 5 years related experience.
  • A proven track record of initiative and successful outcomes in media placement.
  • Knowledge of principles/practices of journalism and public relations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skill; ability to interact effectively with a variety of people from different countries.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to respond quickly and thoroughly to queries from inside and outside the organization
  • Ability to analyze and assimilate information from a variety of sources. Ability to work well under pressure and multi-task.
  • Ability to articulate the interests and positions of the organization in an accurate, compelling and persuasive manner.

We are seeking an Assistant to the Publisher and Director of Press to be responsible for customer service calls and processing orders for books as well as assisting the Publisher and Director of Press.

General areas of responsibility, including but not limited to:

  • Handle press customer service calls and take orders via phone
  • Process orders via online and fax
  • Set up phone calls and in-person meetings for various publication teams
  • Serve as liaison to Press Council, Worship and Practice, Commissions on Worships — getting out key correspondence
  • Access and update Salesforce database
  • Coordinate tasks and keep master list organized within Basecamp
  • Answer phones, triage calls, take and relay messages
  • Traffic manuscripts and projects

Capabilities/Skills:

  • Great phone skills and customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge in Microsoft word, excel, outlook, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Quick learner with the ability to learn new programs
  • Patience / good judgment with people
  • Good conflict resolution instincts
  • Project management skills
  • Familiarity with Web content management is not required but is a plus
