The American Friends of Rambam is a small organization, based in New York City, its main function is to raise awareness and funds for Rambam Hospital in Haifa, Israel.

We are seeking a Director of Development who can identify, and cultivate potential donors. They should have a proven track record in raising major gifts from individuals as well as foundations, private funding, businesses and corporations.

They will be reponsible for expanding the fundraising platform of individual and major gifts thoughrout the United States. Establish relationships with existing donors and develop a plan to move them up the fundraising pyramid.

Candidate should possess:

  • Minimum of two years experience in major fundraising
  • A proven track record in individual gifts
  • Knowledge and experience in the development field
  • Experience in overseeing cultivation and recognition
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Organizational skills

FactSet is looking for multi-lingual staff to help build financial dictionaries that will contribute to the start-up of the company’s non-English operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for building an accurate and thorough financial glossary list by comparing native with English vocabulary in published dual language annual reports and by further researching doubtful terminology in external sources. The final glossary will be uploaded into our translation tools and needs to accurately translate relevant information in native annual reports.

Job Responsibilities

  • Sourcing and downloading of identical dual language reports;
  • Identifying main financial statements in identical dual language reports;
  • Comparing the terminology found;
  • Researching terminology in external sources to achieve the most accurate translation.

Job requirements

  • Good knowledge of at least one (preferably more) of the following languages in addition to fluency in English: Finnish, Hebrew, Hungarian, Greek.
  • Good command of Excel and Adobe Acrobat;
  • Good analytical skills;
  • Attention to detail.

Highly desired

  • Knowledge of financial terminology;
  • Knowledge of translation tools.

The Pelham Jewish Center Learning Center is currently seeking a spirited, creative, knowledgeable and energetic educator for the 7th grade (B’ney Mitzvah class).

This is a   4/hr week teaching position , Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4-6pm, starting September 10th, ending June 1st.

Teaching Subjects are: Teffillah(Torah service), Mishnah (Pirkey Avot), Jewish History (The History of the Sephardic and Ashkenazi communities), Hebrew.

Faculty meets once a month from 6:15-7:30.

We are an egalitarian synagogue committed to fostering a rich, communal Jewish life through prayer, study, social action, and outreach to the unaffiliated. We have a Hebrew school, adult education programs, youth groups, and social action programs. Position Summary:

This position is the executive assistant to the Department Representative of the education department. It encompasses both strategic and administrative work. The ideal candidate is someone who is energetic and outgoing, who can deal with both senior level personnel as well as non managerial staff.

The position reports directly to the Department Representative.

Position is located in NYC

Responsibilities:

• Coordination of special projects on behalf of the Department Representative

• Coordination of various team meetings and follow-up on decisions: including meeting convening, protocol, implementation charts and additional administrative support)

• Current events and literature scan regarding pertinent developments affecting the work of the Department in North America and communication in digest form to the relevant entities in North America and in Israel.

• Day to day management of the New York office: ordering supplies, building and security clearance for guests, organization of intra-office staff meeting.

• Management of an up to date and comprehensive data base of all emissaries in North America

• Administrative support to the representative: calendar, travel and expense reports.

• Support for Jerusalem based Department employees when visiting North America

• Direct report to the Department Representative in North America

Skills and work abilities:

• Background in areas such as client management, data collection, writing in both languages, budget management, and project or event management.

• High level of flexibility, client response and functioning in dynamic and high-pressure surrounding

• Familiarity with Jewish institutions and the Jewish community in North America

• Prior experience in Israel

Computer skills:

• knowledge of Internet, Microsoft Office

Languages:

• Must be fluent in English and Hebrew

Relevant education:

• BA degree
