  • Candidates will use their creativity to implement recreational programs that engage and inspire a mentally disabled adolescent population living in a Residential Program in Brooklyn.
  • Survey consumers’ recreational interests and physical abilities and develop exciting activities and programs geared towards an adolescent population.
  • Help adolescents integrate into the community through vocational counseling and by developing volunteer and job opportunities in the community.
  • Coordinate and accompany participants to external recreational activities and events
  • Help improve and maintain the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of their clients
  • Help build confidence and social skills so that adolescents can enjoy greater independence

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree preferred plus one year experience providing recreational related services to an adolescent population. Must be able to work on Sundays! Knowledge of Jewish Community preferred.

We have an immediate opening for and Assistant Program Coordinator. We are an Orton-Gillingham Jewish Bais Yaakov Girls School and a Community After School Reading Center in Brooklyn for children with Dyslexia. We are looking for somone who will coordinate the daily activities at the school. This person must be able to multi-task. You must be good at organization. We need someone who can set up systems and follow them through. The right canditiate will have writing skills and be computer literate. You will also be a people person and be able problem solve. Parent and staff liason part of the job. This person could come from the business side or could be a teacher ready to get out of the classroom and into coordination and planning, or a retiree looking to give back to the community. Some admininstaion experience and a college degree preferred. Any training in working with Dyslexia Education is a plus. Must like to be part of a think tank.
